The Amanyanabo of Okrika, King Alfred S. Abam, has advised the organisers of Wakirike Unity Choral Concert (WUC) to be steadfast to make the concert a reality and successful.
He further urged them to formally write to the chairmen of Okrika and Ogu/Bolo Local Government Areas for effective participation.
King Abam, gave the advice on Wednesday, when members of the organising committee of WUC paid him a courtesy visit at his Port Harcourt residence.
“ I want the organisers to formally inform the Chairmen of Okrika and Ogu/ Bolo LGAs through writing, apart from that I will also want you people to write to Okrika Divisional Council of Chiefs (ODCC) and further inform the palace for final arrangement, “ King Abam said.
In the same vein, the Vice Chairman of Okrika LGA, Hon. Siyeofori H. Ockiya, has urged the organisers of WUC not to be discouraged by any hitches that may come during the organisation of the concert.
Hon. Ockiya, stated this when the organisers of WUC visited her, in her office and commended the committee, most especially the publicity that is ongoing, saying this year concert would actually confirm the peaceful disposition of Wakirike.
“I can tell you that the committee is really working hard, keep it up, nobody knows tomorrow and how it will turn out to your good. No good deed is ever wasted”, Hon. Ockiya said.
She used the forum to call on Wakirike people to attend the concert enmass, come December 1, this year in Okrika.
