Consequent upon one of the resolutions of the 19th Annual Wakirike USA Convention held at Houston, Texas, USA from 24th-26th May, 2013, Wakirike Development Coalition (WDC) organised business round tables leading to a development summit. Microfinance

Renovation of Health Facility

Island Maternity has produced many Wakirike elite, delivered by experienced midwives. The initial plan of restoration was to focus only on the Maternity area but the scope has been widened to renovate an upgrade the Doctor’s Quarters, Doctors’ Office and the Medical Laboratory.

Medical Mission

Kirike–se Medical Doctors’ Association is an umbrella name for a conglomeration of all medical doctors of Okrika origin. As a body medical doctors, they lighten the burden of ill health of their people. It has carried out free surgical and medical missions in Okrika (2009) and in Ogu (2011) and both towns in 2013.
